The "Anuga" trade fair, which takes place every two years in Cologne, Germany, is the world's largest food & beverage exhibition. Since its creation in 1989, Ecosystem Laboratoire has continued to grow year after year. Our Laboratory now has an international presence in many countries. In 2021, we took part in the October edition of Anuga, in the midst of several thousand companies from all over the world. In this article, we take a look back at this event, which saw our Mac Oc Premium shine!
What exactly is the Anuga trade fair?
Every two years, in October, the city of Cologne in Germany organises the world's largest food and drink trade fair. The aim of the event? To give companies in the sector the opportunity to showcase their products, forge business relationships and discover new products that could revolutionise markets. Anuga in figures? At the 2021 edition, which we attended, over 4,000 exhibitors were on site (usually, over 7,000 exhibitors are present, but this year Covid asked for adjustments), 70,000 visitors came (compared with 150,000 at the previous edition) and finally 170 countries were represented! Energy drinks, ready meals, sauces, raw materials, kitchen tools... It's impossible not to find what you're looking for here!
Our Mac Oc Premium wins an award:
Each year, a 'Top Innovation' award is given to just a few products out of thousands entered. And guess who won? Our Mac Oc Premium! The organisers meet in advance of the show, in a small committee, and study the applications of hundreds of products at each edition. In total, only a few dozen are rewarded, and our Mac Oc Premium was one of them! It was proudly displayed alongside the other winners in an area dedicated to the 'Top Innovation' award for the duration of the show. This award proves once again that, several years after its launch, our flagship spirulina-based food supplement in liquid form is a real forerunner on the market.
What exactly is Mac Oc Premium?
It's a dietary supplement in liquid form, based on spirulina and more specifically phycocyanin, which meets several of the body's needs. In particular, it provides a significant dose of vitamin C and antioxidants with each use. Labelled Sport Protect, it is very popular with sportspeople who use it, like Kenji Grillon (world karate champion and Ecosystem Laboratoire ambassador), before exercise for an energy boost or after exercise for recovery. Report on our presence at Anuga 2021:
From Saturday 09 to 13 October 2021, we were able to present our products to hundreds of companies from the food sector. We presented our Mac Oc Premium, of course, but also our Black Garlic, our Saffron Extract, our Li Ksirel and our Cafrine Cool. Thanks to this show, we were able to make contacts with companies who are now our 'customers' and who buy our products, particularly for use in restaurant kitchens. What's more, we discovered many new products that will no doubt inspire us in the years to come.
